Leadership
CEEI is led by two Executive Directors: Catherine Wolfram and Andrew Isaacs. The center is also guided by a host of thought-leaders including a Steering Committee of eminent energy scholars from across the University, Institutional Partners and an Advisory Board of external affiliates.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
Catherine Wolfram
is an associate professor of business administration at the Haas School of Business and a researcher at the UC Energy Institute. Her research focuses on the economics of energy markets. She has studied the impact of environmental regulation on energy markets and the effects of electricity industry privatization and restructuring around the world. She received a PhD in economics from MIT. Before joining the faculty at UC Berkeley, she was an assistant professor of economics at Harvard University.
Andrew Isaacs is an adjunct professor in the College of Engineering and the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and Executive Director of Berkeley's Management of Technology Program (MOT), the joint graduate program of Berkeley's Haas School of Business and College of Engineering. Isaacs' courses at Berkeley focus on the intersection of technology and business innovation across a range of industries. Isaacs also consults to energy and information technology companies here and abroad. He has BS and MS degrees in geochemistry from the University of Michigan. Before joining the faculty at UC Berkeley, he held executive positions at public and private companies in Silicon Valley.
